Things I Love (2015-2002)
Michael A. Williamson
Michael Williamson is London-born artist currently based in Forest Hill. They studied Fine Art and Design and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design from Northbrook College in Worthing. They interned with MCQ, Alexander McQueen's diffusion line. They subsequently went on to work in the fashion industry as a stylist, in particular working on events for London Fashion Week. He has since worked on several styling projects, working on bespoke stage pieces for CK One, GQ Italy and many others. He has also worked with numerous artists, such as the boy band JLS, styling and designing pieces for their stage shows.
After showcasing their final collection ‘Love Letters from Hell’ at Graduate Fashion Week, Michael went on to work with Caryn Franklin for All Walks Beyond the Catwalk showcasing events at London Fashion Week and the National Portrait gallery with his installation work displayed for one night only in an event for the NPG and Rankin in 2012.
Michael has continued to work in the fashion industry. They are an active blogger and also create YouTube Videos as @quirkygentleman. Michael continued to focus on their own personal artwork on the side until 2020. When the galleries were closed this reignited their love affair with art. The pandemic launched them on a journey to create more art: focusing on the positivity that art brings the viewer and creator.
Aiming to capture that energy for others to enjoy, the collection 'Things I love' is a display of mixed media approaches. It captures artists journey exploring the duality of feminine and masculine energy. The dichotomy captured is deeply connected to the significant personal moments and feelings of life for Michael. Their aim is to send positive energy through the images to the viewer to create a collective emotion through their art. This is their debut exhibition, show showcasing 35 carefully curated pieces created between 2015 and 2022.

Wow.... so many beautiful pieces, my favourite still remains the one that grabbed me so much, of which I have the magnet. Am proud of you!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, the magnets are special to me as they all the people who supported without knowing they were getting anything back and funds were raised for Mind Charity. I want to do more Energie paintings and see how they turn out going forwards
DeleteAdore! You are very talented. My favourite was the Bond. As a mum I got all the feels and acceptable coming from that print. Well done! Rebekah x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, it's something special about that one, sometimes I see a mum and a daughter sometimes its siblings and sometimes its friendship, but it always has this intimate connection
