How did we get here? - AN EXHIBITION BY MICHAEL WILLIAMSON 2023

After displaying the collection ‘Things I Love’ in 2022 Michael was inspired to continue their journey through personal artwork questioning media as an artist with their mixed media approaches whilst the artist's journey explores the duality of feminine and masculine energy. The dichotomy captured is deeply connected to the significant personal moments and feelings of life.

Michael was inspired by Chirographer Julie Cunningham's show ‘How Did We Get Here’ and a live performance by Sigur Rós and the Moon forever changing and yet being reliable made the artist question whether we present in every moment, and contemplating the loneliness of living and never fully being understood, while we acknowledge the chaos that lives within and around us The longing in our hearts, and the concept of memory asking the question … How did we get here?

Michael Williamson is a London-born artist currently based in Forest Hill. They studied Fine Art and Design and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design from Northbrook College in Worthing.
