House of colours by Gieves & Hawkes

Gieves & Hawkes always screams luxury to me,
its a brand that upon the mention of the name you think of decadence and Savile Row.

This London Fashion Week on Mensday I was fortunate enough to attend the presentation displayed in somerset House. Being personally escorted around some of the new collections with a skilled member of the team who was more then attentive to any of my questions made me in no doubt question if this was how they treat a blogger on the brand how luxurious must it feel to have the bespoke service of the brand for a man of any age entering the store.

above you can see one of the Gieves & Hawkes team sporting the look in a english eccentric way which I just love which reminds me of the late 60's and very John Lennon with the rounded glasses which where very popular of the time.
However the 60's was announced at the mens day presentation with discussion of the Beatles and there group brand 'Apple' being next door to the brand of Hawkes, where pictures show employees of the brand on the roof top of the building watching the bands last performance.

amoung the Brand saying they took influence for there new Autumn Winter collection from the Peacoat that has a famous British history chinos and people such as Tommy Nutter and  David Hicks.

Current Design Director Barry Tulip for Gieves &  Hawkes has tapped into all of this and more to make the brand something that would not be intimidating for a young man to wear, in the formal way to the office or casually mix up the collection in a 60'S english twist way with there own current wardrobe. as well as generating a great intreats for younger men such as myself to the brand I feel they have also been careful in order to not alienate the older and more regular customer of the brand being classic enough to fit styles for any age.

The Autumn Winter 2012 collection was titled:
House of Colours

From the range of colours in the ties to the scarves and pocket handkerchiefs all in Luxury silks and cashmires the title House of Colours was very fitting.

Below displayed on the Walls of the presentation was images of the shoot of the latest collection that will soon be around for everyone to see.

THE LOOK:

The image Below is of a Single Breasted Jacket in Lambs Wool Cloth,
combined with the mix of the cream knitwear Jumper made from pure Virgin Wool with a Cashmere contrasting coloured rib trim and the tanned brogues that accompanied this look.

This is one outfit that I would wear straight of the campaign shot to myself which is very rare for me to say as normally I only take elements of a look and not the whole thing for my style.

DRIVING IN STYLE

Real Leather this gloves where as soft as anything.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL:

we all know that in men's wear it's the small details that count,
well in this case this is for certain as the styling of the ties matching the knit but also the contrasting knit from back to front on this jumper above on the shoulder line.

FUR'S AND SKIN'S IN UNEXPECTED WAYS

This is the most Shocking of all as personally Im not as big lover of Furs and wouldn't bother with a fur piece for my blog. However when speaking to the gentleman who escorted me around the collection I loved this piece and after taking a photograph and asked what was the fabric to find is Cashmere and Mink brushed Cloth.
I actually am surprised to say I really like this piece which feels fantastic but below what got my interest is the leather layered tailored piece below

the Loafer and the brogue appeared as the show of choice for this collection and if there was just one piece I could have taken away with me that would have been the Brogues suitable for a gentleman of any age but just required great style which Gieves & Hawkes are providing
